FAQs

Can I save money with a RICS HomeBuyer Report?

Sadly, too many homebuyers don’t bother with a home survey, believing that their layman’s appraisal of the building is sufficient evidence. This is a huge risk that can potentially cost many thousands of pounds in repair costs. A mid-range survey will cost a few hundred pounds but may save you from having to deal with dry rot, timber decay, subsidence, Japanese knotweed and more.

Should I monitor cracks in walls?

Cracks in walls, or doors or windows being out of alignment or not closing properly, can be a sign of subsidence. If you are at all worried, we offer building movement monitoring services over 3-12 months to give you a clear record of what is happening and, where relevant, what is causing movements in your building foundations, and advise on any appropriate action to take.
